The classical range of Oboe dinghies and Piccollo victorian sailing canoes are built in mahogany marine plywood and fitted out in solid mahogany and oak with the strength and beauty of copper riveted oak ribs.

The Peer Gynt suite and kit boats show just what is possible from comparitively simple designs.

The INTERNET VERSIONS of the kits have proved very popular over the last year. If you are interested in building a boat yourself then this could be for you!
Because of shipping costs it has been uneconomic to send kits outside the UK so I have decided to offer the kits in two versions. The “A” version is the standard kit with pre cut plywood parts, all solid timber parts and everything needed to complete the boat but does not include the cost of shipping. The “B” kits include everything that you need and all solid timber parts but instead of the plywood panels PAPER PATTERNS leaving you to buy your own plywood and cut out the hull panels yourself. The cost of these kits includes shipping and shows a considerable saving

I get a lot of requests for restoration and repairs to wooden boats. At present I am restoring an 18ft racing day boat built in 1948, of the same class as “symphony” below. I am also working on the “endevour” an historic wooden fishing vessel from leigh on sea and a “Dunkirk” little ship.

The picture shown is of “Symphony” an 18ft E.O.D. designed and built for the Essex Yacht Club. She was built in 1927 and was restored for a group of club members who joined together to pay for and helpwith the work. She has new decks and sheer planks and 16 new ribs as well as a considerable amount of structural and cosmetic detailed work. I feel quite proud of her as she looked as pretty as a picture when she was launched.
I have another one coming in for restoration this winter. a youngster at a mere 50 years old. There are only 4 known wooden E.O.D.s left, three are still with the club and one at the national maritime museum.
